Our adoption meeting went well. They didn't tell me must we didn't already knew. We turned in our background and application. It takes about three weeks to get the background back and then we'll have our home study and get our finger prints. The classes take about 5 weeks. We could be approved in 3 or 4 months. Adopting an infant is really hard thru the state so I feel the wait it going to take awhile. We are open to two children though so maybe well get lucky and get an infant and a 1 or 2 year old. The point is we've started the process and thats what matters. I just want to be approved and get a baby! I've been working hard on the baby/kid room. It's almost done, just need the bedding for the full size bed but here are the pics so far.

    1. Oh and I wanted to ask you where you got those cool shelves for the books. I really like them. So, you don't want to keep your socks? I would feel strange taking them all. Maybe you could spread the love.

  5. Your room is so sweet! You left a comment on my blog asking about our adoption. We adopted through an agency. We used AdoptHelp. We signed with them in October and Christian was born in February so it was a pretty quick process.

Good luck to you with the state adoption! We're considering it for a second adoption in a couple of years.

  6. Gosh! The whole getting started phase of adoption is stressful! The home study was pretty overwhelming but really not as bad as I had expected. I was told horror stories about the mountains of paperwork. It was A LOT of paperwork but I'm an accountant so I flew through it pretty quickly. Just remember that it is all worth it. I don't even remember a lot of the stuff I had to do to get my lil man. I just know I have him. Also, get some sleep now. Those first few months almost killed me!
