  1. Sorry I don't have any information on this subject so I definitely can't comment. How are things going with the process?

    1. Waiting on our background to come back. Could be another two or three weeks.

    2. What is the next step after the background check comes through?

  2. I've read a lot about it and had debated doing it but am leaning away from it. The reason for me is that while you'll be able to BF a little bit you will still have to supplement with formula (or donated milk) because you won't produce enough.

Then I started thinking about all the chemicals I have put into my body during this IF struggle and I wasn't sure I was willing to inject myself with more and not even able to fully BF. But for some people even a little bit of BFing is worth it so you just need to do what is right for you!

  3. Like Ducky, I'm hesitant to subject myself to more medications. But I think it's awesome in theory. Don't know much about it!

  4. Hey there from ICLW!

So exciting! Congrats on the adoption ball rolling!

I have zero - I repeat zero - information on breastfeeding and adoption. I just thought I'd chime in though that as an adoptee who was not breastfed (could they even do that in the 80s?) I turned out honky dorey. A little weird, but totally unrelated to breastfeeding. ;)

  5. I found your blog tonight. I did breast feed my daughter that we adopted in January. I did not get a full supply but I also had a breast reduction about 10 years ago so even w a biological child I would not likely been able to get a full supply. Our daughter was in the hospital for a month which meant she got used to the bottle and never latched on. With all of that said I did use a supplemental feeder as well as pumped and it was amazing! You can read about it on my blog www.ttababy.blogspot.com where i wrote about the experience. I took domperidone which I was able to get a prescription for and had it made at a compounding pharmacy. Like I said I'd do it again in a heart beat.
