Scared

We got our packet this weekend. DH and I went to dinner and went over the packet and it's really scary. They need so much stuff; banking info, letters from employers, references, insurance info, car insurance, drivers license, just a lot of stuff! This is so scary, what if we don't get approved. I don't wanna tell anybody because what if we don't or we change our minds, but we need references. I'm pretty open with saying we are infertile but saying were moving forward with adoption I guess is scary, I wish I had a better word but I don't. I'm trying to stay claim and chill but it's hard. I wanna be excited but then again what if it takes forever, what if it doesn't work. I wanna buy stuff and yet what if we don't get approved, but I don't wanna get a call hey you have a baby and we have no stuff. Once again I just wish I could shut my brain off.

  1. This is a huge step. Although I know that certain steps need to be taken to protect these children and put them in a great loving home, I hate that a couple who has already suffered through infertility has to go through this whole process to be "accepted". I hope nothing but the best for you through this journey!

  2. We've told a ton of people so far and have got nothing but support. We first got a packet from the county just above ours like 2 years ago and it was so daunting. There were paragraphs upon paragraphs that we had to write, explaining how we fight, our relationship with our parents, etc... and it just never got done since I ended up getting into nursing school. Then this last week, we pick up paperwork in our new county and it's almost a joke. There were 9 pages of questions with words next to boxes to check. We finished every single bit of it (except the fingerprinting and notarized parts) in about 2 hours. Not that I'm recommending a move to another county but that was our experience. Ya know, Oklahoma is right next to the county I'm talking about!

  3. Oh man, that packet is so overwhelming! But just take it a form at a time, and before you know it you will be done!! This is so exciting!

  4. I bet it is totally overwhelming and it is totally normal to be scared. There are a lot of what ifs and they can really mess with your mind. Like others have said, take it one form at a time. Hoping and praying if you decide to tell people you are offered nothing but love and support. Giving you my love and support over the net.
